Banana sushi is our latest addiction. Both me and my daughter have a very sweet tooth and I am always on the lookout for healthy treats. I recently made banana sushi and it was such a big hit in our household that I thought Iโd share this with you. It is ridiculously easy to make but honestly so so good!
What you need
Banana(s)
Chocolate. I used extra dark chocolate as the banana is sweet enough but you can really use any type of chocolate you like.
Toppings of your choice e.g. desiccated coconut, different types of sugar or chocolate sprinkles, pistachio pieces, brittle, nut pieces, rice crispies.
Method

Melt the chocolate, peel the bananas and coat them in chocolate. Put the bananas on a piece of baking paper, sprinkle with your choice of topping and let dry.
Once the chocolate has dried you can cut them up and eat them straight away or – which is my favourite and Iโd definitely recommend doing – put them in an airtight container and pop them in the freezer. You can then pull them out whenever you or your kids would like to have a sweet treat.
When you take them out, wait a few minutes before cutting them up. You can then either serve the pieces while they are still slightly frozen (SOOO delicious, the banana almost tastes like ice cream then), or wait for it to defrost and serve then.
Freezing them is also a great way to make use of overripe bananas that otherwise you wouldnโt be able to eat on the day.

Thatโs it. Simplest! If you wanted to add a but more nut goodness you can coat the bananas in peanut butter and then cover them in chocolate in sprinkles.
It would also be a fun activity for kids to get involved in making their own healthy snacks.
Let me know if you give the banana shushi a go and what you think or share your photos with me on Instagram. I would love to see your creations!
Love, Pamela
